About this roleRobotics Assembler
Job Purpose
Perform standardized and progressively complex assembly tasks to build ICOR robotic products and subsystems with high consistency and safety, culminating in installation of motors, sensors, wiring harnesses, and completion of standard functional checks. Support production flow by identifying basic issues, documenting work accurately, and collaborating with team leaders.
Role – Typical Duties
• Perform hand soldering and wiring of printed circuit boards (PCBs), including installation of electronic components such as diodes, switches, resistors, capacitors, and sensors, in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.
• Assemble robotic products and sub assemblies using work instructions, drawings, diagrams, and BOMs.
• Progress from standardized sub assemblies to more complex electromechanical or precision assembly (e.g., chassis, arm/drive modules, payload interfaces).
• Install and secure electrical and mechanical components, gearboxes, DC motors, sensors, cameras, wiring harnesses, and electronics assembly.
• Fit, align, and adjust parts to meet operational, torque, and quality requirements.
• Operate hand/power/torque tools and follow safety protocols.
• Perform standard functional and visual inspections on sub assemblies and completed robots; escalate abnormalities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, and electrical issues, and accurately document findings in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain 5S work area; comply with WHMIS and safety policies.
• Coordinate with the Production Team Lead to meet build schedules and drive quality improvements.
• Support continuous improvement and other production duties as required.
• Program, configure, and validate electronic modules using specialized software tools.
Skills and Training Required
• 1–3 years in production/manufacturing (electromechanical or precision assembly preferred).
• Proficiency reading work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics.
• Experience with mechanical/electronic component handling, fasteners, torque control, and basic test steps.
• Ability to perform hand soldering of wires and electronic components with consistent quality, following documented build instructions.
• Knowledge of safe work practices & WHMIS consistent awareness.
• Strong attention to detail; quality and repeatability focused.
• Effective communication; cooperative under fast paced conditions.
• Basic troubleshooting and growth mindset to learn ICOR robots and processes.
