General Information
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our R&D team, driving end-to-end development of automotive electronic systems — from concept and HW architecture definition through to production and end-of-series support.
The role demands hands-on expertise in microcontroller-based hardware design, lab verification, and control unit validation for EMI/EMC and electrical robustness at certified test laboratories. The engineer will also manage existing production projects, handling cost optimisation and component obsolescence without compromising design functionality.
Strong coordination skills are essential, as the role involves active engagement with both internal and external customers on all EE-related topics
Your Key Responsibilities
The Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for ensuring the electrical design fulfils all requirements with the required technical maturity — across the full product development lifecycle.
- Requirements & Architecture — Define and elicit EE requirements(in Polarion); develop concept definitions and hardware architectures(MATLAB System Composer) for thermal management and power transfer automotive applications — including Thermal management Integrated Controllers, electrical water pumps, electrical oil pumps, flow control valves, and power transfer devices.
- Electronic Design & Simulation — Execute schematic and PCB layout design (Zuken), perform design calculations, worst-case analysis, and simulations to meet technical, quality, and cost targets. Lead microcontroller allocation activities and support component re-design programmes across multiple power classes.
- Cost & Effort Estimation — Own product-specific effort estimation including Bill of Materials costing and R&D calculations for acquisition and project planning purposes
- Documentation, FMEA & Work Products — Create and maintain all required EE work products per the Product Development Process — including HW specifications, schematics with variant management, FMEDA, design and test specifications, and Object/Discipline Reviews — in line with automotive standards
- Project Planning & Control — Plan, control, and monitor EE activities in alignment with the development process and worldwide EE project teams — covering Gate Reviews, Risk Assessments, and Change Management. Coordinate and synchronise EE development activities with Project Managers and key stakeholders
- Verification, Validation & EMC — Plan and execute EE verification, qualification, and EMC/EMI testing at certified labs. Define test cases aligned to EE requirements; organise EMC validation planning and documentation.
- Component & Obsolescence Management — Support component sourcing, evaluate part changes and supplier terminations; manage redesign ensuring functional compliance
- Prototype & Production Support — Lead prototype planning, coordinate ECU prototype builds, and manage sample handover to stakeholders. Support introduction to production and provide product engineering support through end-of-series.
- Cross-functional Collaboration — Serve as the EE design representative within the project team — interfacing across mechanical, software, test, manufacturing, and quality functions. Coordinate with internal and external customers and support Project Managers during acquisition phases
- Lab & Measurement Competence — Hands-on proficiency with oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and lab equipment for design verification and troubleshooting (soldering knowledge is must)
Your Qualifications:
- BE/B-Tech/Masters in Electronics/Electrical (or any equivalent streams)
- Total Work Experience: 5-7 yrs
- Good knowledge on Electronic HW designs with microcontroller
- Good knowledge on laboratory measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, Power supply and other lab equipment’s)
- Ability to work in a multicultural setup (China/Korea/Japan/Germany/North America)
Key Strengths:
- Hands on Experience in High Voltage & Low Voltage Schematic Development (Zuken)
- Experience in High Voltage (added advantage) & Low Voltage Knowledge PCB Layout Design (CR-8000/Other tools)
- Strong hands-on Experience in BLDC motor control design with H-bridge (BLDC Gate Driver ASIC knowledge would be added advantage)
- Strong hands-on Experience in Stepper motor Control Design with H-bridge (Stepper Driver ASIC knowledge would be added advantage)
- Strong practical experience of BLDC & Stepper motor design Validation/Simulations
- Strong practical experience of LIN & CAN design Validation/Simulations
