Visalaw.ai is transforming immigration law through AI, providing a platform that automates various legal workflows. The Associate Software Developer will work on developing new features, fixing bugs, and collaborating with Support and Engineering teams to enhance the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Implement small-to-medium features and bug fixes across the frontend (Next.js) and backend (NestJS), under code review from senior engineers
- Triage and resolve escalated customer support issues that require code-level investigation, not just first-line troubleshooting
- Query production databases (PostgreSQL via Supabase, MongoDB Atlas) to investigate account-level issues and verify data state
- Reproduce reported bugs, isolate root cause, and either fix them directly or hand off to the engineering team with well-organized context
- Write and maintain tests for the code you ship
- Communicate technical findings clearly to customers in plain language when a support issue needs it
- Maintain internal support and engineering documentation as you learn the product
- Identify patterns in support tickets that point to recurring bugs or product gaps, and turn them into engineering tickets
