Database Engineer (SQL Server / Azure)

We are seeking a Database Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB to design, optimize, and support scalable cloud-native data solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with database architecture, performance tuning, Azure migrations, and modern data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server databases for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead Azure database migration and modernization initiatives.
• Build and maintain cloud-native data solutions using Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB.
• Develop high-performance database schemas, stored procedures, and queries.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support application and data integration requirements.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of database engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB.
• Strong knowledge of database modeling, data architecture, and 3rd Normal Form (3NF).
• Experience reviewing execution plans and tuning high-volume databases.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Hyperscale and cloud-native database architectures.
• Experience with database monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and migrations.
• Experience with distributed databases, ELT/ETL tools, and data streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and modern data engineering practices.
