
SUMMARY:
The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking an academic trauma, acute care, and critical care surgeon to join our faculty. The position will be based primarily at Rhode Island Hospital, the state’s only Level I Trauma Center and the principal teaching hospital of Brown University, with additional opportunities across Brown-affiliated hospitals.
This faculty role is 80% clinical, with responsibilities spanning trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. In addition to clinical care, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach, mentor, and collaborate with trainees in a rich academic environment. The Division supports a robust General Surgery Residency Program and an ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, as well as providing broad educational opportunities for medical students.

The position is hospital-based, and the applicant will be expected to participate in patient care activities, teaching of medical students and training of general surgery residents.

About Rhode Island Hospital and Brown Surgery:
