Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing data pipelines from source to end user

• Optimizing data pipelines

• Creates physical database designs and operates and administers the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery

Desirable Skills:

•  Experience with distributed data systems

• Experience with middleware and gateways

• Experience with researching and implementing cyber security vulnerability remediations

• Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions

• Experience with Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools

• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices

• Experience in Database Administration, Maintenance Optimization

Additional Responsibilities/Skills for Data Warehouse including Oracle OBIEE

Subject matter expert in database design of the data warehouse or data marts.

Skills:

• Experience and expert knowledge in technology and/or application required including installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade (technology stack) and cloning

Additional Skills for Case Management and ERP

• Experience in designing/developing an automated data distribution mechanism
• Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based
• Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practice
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practice.
• Experience in impact analysis, implementation planning and implementation of technology or suite specific patches, maintenance packs and releases, and technology stack patch sets and releases
• Experience in technical design, planning and implementation of specific technology or suite
• Experience with database administration and vendor support services
• Additional Skills for Cloud Database Administrator:

Expertise and experience in Cloud DB Administration, Data Development (DevOps/DataOps) & Operations, Data Integration, Automation tools and technologies. Further research suggested on a potential need for a role of a Senior DevOps/Cloud DBA at a rate similar to a Senior DevOps/Could Engineer

Additional Skills for Oracle Database Administrator:

• Experience in e-Business Suite Applications R12.2 and Oracle Data Guard application (installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrade, and cloning)
• Knowledge and experience in configuring the latest version of WebLogic, OEM Grid Control
• Expert level knowledge of migrating Oracle technologies from Unix (Solaris) to Oracle Enterprise Linux / Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x/6.x/7.x
• Expert level knowledge of Advanced Compression, Data partitioning processes
• High level knowledge of data masking using Oracle patches and database scripts
• Performance tuning of e-Business Suite R12.2/19c in multi-node RAC
• Developing database backup and restore strategy utilizing Flash Recovery Area (FRA) for RMAN and ASM.
• Expert level knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c database administration, maintenance, security implementation, upgrade and patching, database performance tuning, sizing and capacity planning, database backup and recovery using RMAN
• Knowledge of Configuring Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 using Logical Host
• Knowledge of Online patching
• Knowledge of UNIX OS (Operating System) and Linux OS, utilities, shell scripting
