As we scale in the Mexico market, our HR Generalist plays a key role in building a strong organizational foundation for the Mexico City office.
The HR Generalist supports people operations end-to-end for the Mexico City office — from technical recruitment to HR administration, employee relations, and office management — reporting directly to the HR Director. The responsibilities listed below are illustrative of the functions inherent to the position and are not exhaustive.
● Source and screen candidates for technical roles, including AI/ML engineers, data scientists, developers, and technical marketing specialists, through job boards, LinkedIn, and other channels aligned with the Mexican tech talent market
● Conduct first-round interviews, maintain candidate communication, and ensure a positive candidate experience
● Partner with the Senior Recruiter on sourcing support for senior or business-critical roles, handing off later-stage interviews and offer management to them
● Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment metrics/KPIs
● Execute HR policies and procedures defined by the HR Director
● Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end
● Maintain and keep up to date employee files and labor documentation
● Support payroll coordination, including managing monthly payroll incidences (novedades)
● Support benefits administration and time-off/attendance tracking
● Ensure compliance with Mexican labor law and regulations
● Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns
● Support culture and engagement initiatives
● Assist with conflict resolution, escalating complex cases to the HR Director when necessary
● Support the coordination of performance review and feedback cycles
● Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and People systems
● Support the coordination of training and development programs
● Prepare HR reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making
● Collaborate on special projects assigned by the HR Director
● Serve as the main point of contact with building administration
● Coordinate and manage the monthly allocation of parking spaces
● Place weekly office supply orders (e.g., pantry/"super" stock) and ensure the office is fully stocked and functioning properly
● Ensure office facilities and equipment are in good working order, escalating issues as needed
● Support internal communications
● 3–5 years of HR generalist experience; exposure to tech or startup environments preferred
● Experience sourcing and screening candidates for technical roles (exposure to AI/ML, software engineering, or data science roles is a plus)
● Solid understanding of Mexican labor law, regulations, and HR best practices
● Hands-on experience with HR operations: onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance
● Proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
● Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
● Experience in marketing, advertising, or tech agency environments
● Familiarity with sourcing strategies for technical talent
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
