Controls Design Engineer - Gas Turbines

OFS is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize control systems for gas turbines used in power generation or industrial applications. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop control algorithms and system architectures for gas turbine control systems
• Create detailed control system design documents, including specifications, schematics, and functional descriptions
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate control systems with turbine hardware and software
• Analyze system performance data to optimize control strategies for efficiency, reliability, and emissions
• Conduct simulations and testing of control systems using specialized software tools
• Support troubleshooting and provide technical expertise during turbine commissioning, startup, and operational phases
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Stay updated on advancements in control technologies and gas turbine engineering

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience in control system design for gas turbines or other rotating machinery
• Strong knowledge of control theory, PLC programming, and real-time systems
• Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or equivalent
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for collaboration and documentation
• Familiarity with gas turbine operation and thermodynamics is highly desirable
