Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst
The purpose of this job is to play a lead role in analyzing business results and providing insights into the performance of key segments.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Partner with Accounting during the month-end close process to validate financial results, reconcile reporting packages, and ensure figures presented to leadership align to the general ledger.
- Develop written narratives and talking points that translate financial data into business-relevant insights for non-financial audiences, including senior leadership and the board.
- Engage directly with business partners across departments to gather context on performance drivers, obtain explanations for variances, and incorporate operational context into financial commentary.
- Perform variance analysis against forecast, budget, and prior year, and track expenses and results in partnership with department leaders.
- Maintain and enhance recurring financial models and reporting templates used for monthly reporting, forecasting, and board reporting cycles.
- Create and update board quality decks and executive summaries that communicate overall company financial performance, including variance commentary and key driver analysis.
- Conduct quality control review of reporting packages and presentations to ensure accuracy, internal consistency, and proper sourcing prior to distribution to senior leadership.
- Extract and synthesize data from multiple systems and databases to support reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special projects in direct support of the Director and VP of FP&A, often under tight deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the monthly reporting process, templates, and supporting workflows.
- Maintain deep working knowledge of the SmartView hierarchy ("tree") structure, serving as the team's go-to resource for navigating entity, account, and segment dimensions, and troubleshooting mapping issues.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To join our band, you’ll need the following experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Finance, Business, or related field
- 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience), preferably within a retail or ecommerce environment
- Ability to be detail oriented while independently leading and/or executing multiple assignments simultaneously under tight timelines
- SQL or Tableau experience is a major plus.
- Experience working with large data sets, be customer service oriented, able to turn around work quickly
- Basic Accounting knowledge around accruals, GL, capitalizations, amortizations, etc.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to logically structure issues and determine recommended resolutions
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Skilled proficiency using financial planning tools such as Oracle Smart View
- Skilled proficiency using financial management applications such as PeopleSoft
- Skilled proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Pay Rate: $95,000 - $110,000/yr depending on background and experience.
