Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is a leading firm providing land development engineering and environmental consulting services. They are seeking a Staff Azure Cloud Engineer to join their Digital Solutions Team, where the individual will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Azure resources for Enterprise GIS environments, working on Esri ArcGIS Enterprise deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Langan’s geospatial, network and development teams to build and configure Azure resources to support ArcGIS Enterprise environments that serve both internal and external clients
- Apply concepts of computing, networking, security, and the cloud to system design
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing server environments
- Deploy and maintain hosted applications and databases
- Configure logging, monitoring, and appropriate alerting thresholds for infrastructure and services that support ArcGIS Enterprise environments and its dependencies
- Plan, develop, test, and document disaster recovery, redundancy, and backup activities for managed cloud infrastructure
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate resource provisioning, configuration, and administration
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) to deploy infrastructure and application changes
- Write comprehensive documentation on system implementations and changes
- Manage and apply updates to services and systems
- Manage identity and access for cloud resources, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), conditional access policies, and integration with on-premises Active Directory where required
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies, cloud & systems engineering; and
- Respond to incidents by helping with recovery, mitigation, and root cause analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or other related discipline is required
- 2+ years of professional experience designing, executing, and supporting Esri ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience identifying and resolving complex technical issues
- Self-motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High caliber of self-motivation with the ability to work well within groups
- Ability to work efficiently and produce accurate and thorough work
- Ability to work independently, remain flexible, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Master's degree a plus
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104 Administrator Associate, AZ-305 Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus
