HDI Global Insurance Company is a commercial property and casualty insurer headquartered in Chicago, IL. They are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure and deployment pipelines while collaborating with software engineering, QA, and IT teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient application deployments
- Develop and manage cloud‑based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Collaborate with software engineering and QA teams to support development, testing, and release processes
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security; proactively identify and resolve issues
- Implement automation to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Support containerization and orchestration platforms to enable consistent application environments
- Manage configuration, patching, and environment consistency across development, test, and production systems
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure infrastructure and deployment practices comply with governance, audit, and security standards
Requirements:
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Ability to write and maintain OpenAPI specifications
- Solid experience with the .NET ecosystem, including building, deploying, and supporting .NET applications
- Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, particularly IIS
- Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and monitoring tools
- Experience creating, maintaining, and deploying applications using Helm charts
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure‑focused role
- Scripting experience using PowerShell (preferred) and/or Bash
