Senior DevOps Engineer (Senior QA Engineer)

ECLARO is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Senior QA Engineer) for their client in New York, NY, who operates one of the world's largest energy delivery systems. The role involves leading quality assurance initiatives for enterprise applications, defining QA strategies, and driving automation efforts while mentoring QA engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end QA efforts across multiple projects and Agile teams
• Define and implement QA strategies, standards, and best practices
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks
• Oversee functional, regression, integration, system, API, and performance testing activities
• Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, and product owners to ensure testability and quality throughout development
• Review requirements and technical designs to identify risks, gaps, and test coverage needs
• Drive automation initiatives for applications developed in: C# / .NET, Python, Java, Node.js / TypeScript
• Lead defect management, root cause analysis, and release readiness activities
• Integrate automated testing into CI / CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Monitor test execution metrics and provide reporting on quality trends and release status
• Mentor and guide QA engineers on automation, testing methodologies, and quality standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes and tooling

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation
• 3+ years of experience leading QA teams or QA initiatives
• Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks and testing tools
• Experience testing enterprise applications built with C# / .NET, Python, Java, or Node.js / TypeScript
• Strong experience with API testing and backend validation
• Experience implementing automated testing within CI / CD environments
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, SDLC, and QA methodologies
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail
• Strong SQL and database testing experience
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• ISTQB or related QA certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Experience building QA automation frameworks from the ground up
• Experience working in utility, energy, or regulated industries
• Exposure to microservices and distributed system testing
• Familiarity with accessibility, security, and performance testing practices
