Senior Python Software Engineer (Oracle SQL | Healthcare Data Platform)

Pyramid Consulting, Inc is a leading Healthcare Industry company, and they are seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to design and support applications in the healthcare data platform. The role involves developing REST APIs, working with Oracle databases, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and support enterprise Python applications and backend services
• Develop REST APIs and integration logic for internal systems
• Work with Oracle databases, complex SQL, and PL/SQL to support data processing and reporting
• Build and maintain data validation, reconciliation, and automation workflows
• Support performance tuning and optimization for Oracle queries and data pipelines
• Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Support healthcare data workflows, reporting, and operational processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of hands-on Python development
• Experience building enterprise or production applications using Python
• Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
• Strong experience with complex SQL queries
• Experience building or supporting backend services or APIs
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Pandas, NumPy
• SQLAlchemy, python-oracledb, or cx_Oracle
• Oracle performance tuning
• PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions
• SQL*Loader, BULK COLLECT, FORALL
• Power BI or Tableau
• Healthcare claims, payer, health plan, or healthcare data
• X12 / EDI (837, 835, 834)
