Role: Senior Linux/Unix System Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux/Unix System Administrator with 6 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience to support and maintain mission-critical Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, Ansible automation, Linux clustering, storage administration, and scripting. This role requires hands-on system administration, patching, automation, troubleshooting, and production support in a highly available enterprise environment.
Required Experience
- 6 8+ years of Linux/Unix System Administration experience in enterprise environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting production infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance.
- Former Exelon contractors must be eligible for a new 12-month assignment and be in good standing.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise Linux servers (RHEL, Oracle Linux).
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot operating systems and server hardware.
- Build and automate server provisioning using Ansible and scripting.
- Configure and maintain Linux clustering and high-availability solutions.
- Manage storage technologies including ZFS, LVM, and Veritas.
- Support VMware virtual infrastructure and production Linux environments.
- Monitor system health, performance, backups, and security compliance.
- Plan and implement security patching and operating system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate server documentation and configuration records.
- Support production releases, infrastructure changes, and disaster recovery activities.
- Rack and stack servers when required.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and network teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support and scheduled maintenance windows.
