Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, and Linux administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure while ensuring security, governance, performance, and operational excellence. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production workloads in cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
Azure Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure components including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and Platform Services.
- Implement and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
- Perform capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost management for Azure resources.
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Windows & Linux Administration
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux operating systems in Azure environments.
- Perform patch management, security hardening, system monitoring, and backup management.
- Manage Active Directory integration, DNS, and server-level configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve OS-level performance and availability issues.
Database Support
- Support Microsoft SQL Server deployments in Azure and on virtual machines.
- Monitor database performance and coordinate with application teams for issue resolution.
- Assist with backup, recovery, and maintenance activities.
Networking & Security
- Configure and manage Azure networking services
- Implement cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Support identity and access management using Azure RBAC and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Participate in security reviews and remediation activities.
Governance & Monitoring
- Implement Azure governance controls using Management Groups, Resource Groups, Azure Policy, Resource Locks, Tagging Standards
- Configure and maintain monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Alerts, Application Insights
- Analyze logs and metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Operations & Automation
- Perform incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or scripting tools.
- Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution when required.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Preferred: Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support production environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, backup, disaster recovery, and incident management processes.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Azure CLI for automation and operational tasks.
- Experience implementing security, governance, tagging, and resource management best practices in Azure.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration/support, including backups, monitoring, and basic performance troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Azure RBAC for identity and access management.
- Good understanding of Azure networking concepts, including VNets, NSGs, VPNs, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, Load Balancers, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Policy.
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration, including troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure infrastructure administration and support.
