Software Engineer (R&D)

Terran Robotics is a pioneering company focused on intelligent, autonomous construction systems. They are seeking an R&D Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of AI-driven robotic systems for construction.

Responsibilities:

• Build custom tools and integrations that accelerate development and experimentation
• Improve and extend our AI coding assistant to boost team productivity
• Automate repetitive tasks and workflows across engineering and operations
• Contribute to health dashboards, testing infrastructure, and data pipelines
• Collaborate across disciplines to solve open-ended problems with code

Requirements:

• Strong programming fundamentals and a track record of building something impressive
• Ability to get things done independently, without extensive guidance
• Comfortable working across unfamiliar domains and technology stacks
• Writes simple, readable, and maintainable code
• Excited about using AI tools to move faster and smarter
• Experience with LLMs, developer tooling, or automation frameworks
• Exposure to robotics, distributed systems, or sensor data
• Background in software engineering, but with a flexible, cross-functional mindset
• Interest in sustainability, construction, or experimental R&D environments
