SCORE Mentors is a nonprofit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration that helps aspiring and existing entrepreneurs succeed. The Marketing Specialist supports the Montana chapter’s marketing and communications efforts by managing both social media and email outreach to promote workshops, events, and resources for local small business owners.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, write, and post content across social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Schedule and manage ongoing social media content calendars
- Develop and send email campaigns using tools such as Constant Contact and Gmail
- Create and manage workshop promotions, including registration pages, invitation emails, and reminder emails
- Draft and distribute emails & newsletters (weekly, monthly, and occasional special communications)
- Review and ensure the accuracy of all event and communication details before distribution
- Conduct analysis and research as needed to identify content for the weekly newsletter and review data to gauge communication effectiveness (e.g., click rates, open rates)
- Monitor engagement metrics (e.g., open rates, click rates, social engagement) and provide basic analysis
- Identify and recommend content for newsletters and campaigns based on chapter activities and audience needs
- Collaborate with chapter leadership on marketing initiatives and communication strategies
- Participate in occasional planning or coordination meetings as needed
Requirements:
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Basic analytical skills and comfort reviewing performance metrics
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to dedicate a few hours per month
- Must be 18 years or older
- Complete SCORE volunteer onboarding and training
- Experience with social media platforms and/or email marketing tools (Constant Contact preferred but not required)
