Principal Platform Engineer (US)

QVC Group, Inc. is a Fortune 500 company known for its live social shopping and retail brands. The Principal Platform Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for shaping the future of the enterprise database and data platform environment, focusing on scalability, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, evolution, and modernization of enterprise database platforms across cloud and on-premises environments, with a focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and security
• Define database engineering standards, best practices, and automation approaches that improve operational consistency and accelerate delivery
• Partner with architecture, engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver resilient database solutions aligned to business and technology priorities
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, high availability/disaster recovery, and complex issue resolution across critical database environments
• Mentor engineers and act as a thought leader, helping elevate engineering standards and modern database practices across the organization

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in database engineering, platform engineering, or data platform engineering within complex enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including strong experience with Azure database services, database modernization, and cloud adoption
• Proven success in performance tuning, automation, HA/DR, security, and governance, with the ability to influence stakeholders and mentor technical teams
