The City of Lee’s Summit is a thriving community seeking a Customer Service Representative. This role involves assisting customers with service inquiries, maintaining customer accounts, and processing payment transactions for the Water Utilities Department.
Responsibilities:
- Assists customers with obtaining service
- Resolution of customer account inquiries
- Maintains customer accounts in the Customer Information System (CIS)
- Primary contact for customer service inquiries and complaints related to the services provided by the Water Utilities Department
- Responsible for processing and collecting payment transactions both in person and electronically
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Three years of customer service experience or utility billing required
- Must be proficient with MS Office products; Excel, Word and Outlook
- Must have excellent communication and listening skills and able to document account interactions thoroughly and accurately
- Must be detailed oriented and complete work with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to effectively manage stressful situations with difficult customers and to resolve complex customer problems and conflicts
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the public, peers and management
- Ability to learn and articulate city ordinances and departmental policies to customers
