General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is a global leader in the design and production of munitions and armaments. They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead project planning and execution across multiple programs, ensuring that projects meet technical and budgetary requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting and troubleshooting across multiple programs
- Lead an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to design, develop, manufacture, and deliver products
- Work with engineering management to plan, staff, and execute projects of all sizes
- Serve as engineering interface to program management, senior leadership, and the customer community
- Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
- Perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
- Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Review reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems
- Provide technical support for the engineering process
- Design, implement, and communicate an operational plan for completing the project
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan
- Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
- Identify, develop, and gather resources necessary to complete the project
- Prepare engineering designs and work specifications
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Select materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
- Engineering degree required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
