This posting is for two (2) Transportation Maint Tech I - II positions, depending on business need and applicants' qualifications. Performs routine transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Assists with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades; flags traffic.
Inspects barricades to ensure compliance with barricade standards.
No education required.
TMT I = No experience required
TMT II = 1 year experience*
*Experience must be in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related technical training or education from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications.
Must have a Commercial Class "A" Driver's License with an "N" Endorsement or have obtained a CDL "A” License, within 120 calendar days from date of employment.

Must be able to report for duty within 60 minutes of notification on a 24-hour basis to respond to emergency situations.
