IP Recruiter Group is recruiting for an associate opportunity within a highly-respected law firm whose diverse clientele consists of leading international innovators and universities. The role involves preparing and prosecuting patent applications while addressing various patent protection issues and collaborating with clients and inventors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and prosecute of patent applications
- Responsibilities pertaining to a range of patent protection issues (e.g., patentability and infringement opinions, patent portfolio strategy, etc.)
- Working closely with clients, inventors, and other firm attorneys
- Possibility for trademark and PTAB work
Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Engineering (e.g. mechanical, biomedical, materials, electrical, aeronautical) or Physics
- JD, State Bar, USPTO Bar with a solid academic background
- At least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience within a respected law firm
- An MS or PhD would certainly be valued
- Any applicable prior engineering experience (e.g., medical devices and instrumentation, materials engineering, mechanical equipment and machinery, software engineering, electromechanical, optics, imaging systems, industrial controls) would also be valued
