The National Marine Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and market expansion across marine channels, while developing strategic customer relationships and supporting technical sales initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Drive profitable sales growth across Marine OEM, aftermarket, retail, and distribution channels
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with Marine Business Unit objectives
- Manage and grow key distributor, dealer, retail, and representative agency relationships
- Identify and develop new business opportunities involving marine adhesives, sealants, bonding systems, and resin technologies
- Support technical sales activities including product demonstrations, field evaluations, troubleshooting, and customer training
- Maintain strong relationships with boat builders, repair facilities, marine distributors, and strategic accounts
- Monitor sales performance, forecasting, pipeline activity, and market trends while initiating corrective actions where necessary
- Coordinate market intelligence regarding competitors, pricing, products, and sales strategies
- Work closely with sales, marketing, technical, customer service, and operations teams to support growth initiatives
- Recruit, develop, train, and motivate regional sales personnel, rep agencies, and channel partners
- Support promotional activities, trade shows, and customer engagement events within the marine industry
- Ensure CRM discipline, territory management, and accurate reporting of sales activities and opportunities
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience within Marine, Industrial Retail, Distribution, Composites, RV, Automotive Aftermarket, or related industries
- Strong knowledge of Marine sealing and bonding systems
- Strong knowledge of Structural adhesives and polyurethane technologies
- Strong knowledge of Epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester, and polyurethane resin systems
- Strong knowledge of Marine vessel assembly, repair, and composite applications
- Strong knowledge of Marine industry specifications and repair standards
- Proven experience managing distributors, dealer networks, retail channels, or regional sales territories
- Strong technical sales, business development, and consultative selling skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with strong business acumen
- Demonstrated track record of successful sales growth, leadership, innovation, and customer relationship management
- Ability to travel regionally as required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Marine Technology, Chemistry, or related field
