They are seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide administration and support of Linux systems and cloud services, contributing to the company’s success through innovative system administration practices.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily support for applications and users. Troubleshoot user issues, CICD pipelines, scripting issues, and cloud services. Review system and application logs, and verify completion of automated processes
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required
- Work with project teams to document and deploy new projects
- Provision and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Research, develop, and implement innovative and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
- Maintain and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation
- Influence broader technology groups in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and best practices
- Creative thinking and proposing solutions to grow our business by delighting our clients
- May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- BS (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree
- 4+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience
- 2+ years of cloud experience
- 2+ years of experience with Gitlab/Github/Bitbucket or similar code management/deployment technologies
- Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Agile methodologies
- Highly motivated, Innovative, self-directed thinker with an eagerness to stay up to date with current trends and a desire to impress
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- AWS preferred (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM and CloudWatch)
- Strong scripting skills – Python / Bash preferred
- Knowledge of automating infrastructure builds utilizing tools such as Cloudformation, AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) Ansible or Puppet
- Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as AWS Fargate
