Software Engineering Manager - Cilium - Isovalent

Cisco is revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era. They are seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of passionate engineers for the Cilium project, focusing on innovative networking, security, and observability solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders
• Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers, with input from technical leads and senior leadership
• Track progress on projects, help engineers grow their project management skills
• Preserve the engineering culture as we scale out the team
• Being a role model of company culture and values

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Engineering Management experience
• 5+ years of experience in Software Development (any language), with at least 2+ years of experience with Go
• 3+ years of Linux, Kubernetes and the networking stack
• Strong technical background and good understanding of cloud native technologies
• Software engineering experience
• Experience of interacting and working with customers
• Experience managing independent, strong, and diverse teams
• Strong understanding of customer value
• Strong networking background is a big plus
