Data Engineer (Mid Level)

Hire With Near connects top talent in Latin America with remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. They are seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to build and maintain ETL pipelines and support data products while automating data-driven workflows across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using Airflow
• Collect data from multiple sources and load them into data warehouses
• Build pipeline integrations with internal data products, including long-running processes
• Identify opportunities to optimize relational data storage through schema design, query optimization, indexing, replication, and partitioning
• Build ad-hoc scripts and recurring processes to automate labor-intensive workflows
• Support automation needs across departments such as Production and Marketing

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
• Experience with schema design and data modeling
• Strong experience writing complex SQL queries for relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Redshift)
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong Python skills and comfort writing production-level code
• Comfortable working with an existing codebase not originally written by you
• Willingness to learn new languages, tools, or frameworks as needed
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Experience with Airflow, Django, or Docker
• Exposure to modern data engineering tools or platforms
