Panasonic Professional Video & Audio Systems (PAVNA) is extending its professional video hardware and broadcast systems with software platforms that deliver additional value to dealers and end users. In this role, you'll architect and build working software yourself, driving AI coding tools to design, prototype, and ship production-quality features end to end.
Responsibilities:
- Translate management direction and business requirements into a clear technical plan, then execute on it yourself, using AI tools to move from spec to working software fast
- Define acceptance criteria for each deliverable so that "done" is unambiguous before development begins
- Make the architecture calls — APIs, platform choices, and system integrations — and build them out yourself, using AI tools to go from decision to working software
- Drive AI coding tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as your primary build engine to prototype, write, and ship production-quality features and compress delivery cycles
- Own software delivery end to end, from technical direction through to shipping, and be accountable for what gets built because you are the one building it, with AI as your primary force multiplier
- Where external development resources are engaged, evaluate proposals for technical soundness and commercial reasonableness, identifying scope gaps, unrealistic estimates, or architectural red flags before contracts are signed
- Own statements of work, delivery milestones, and vendor accountability; surface blockers early and manage course corrections without escalating every issue to leadership
- Own the test and acceptance process by defining test plans, executing or coordinating acceptance testing, and determining whether work meets spec before payment or deployment
- Maintain working knowledge of how PAVNA hardware products (KAIROS, PTZ, and broadcast systems) integrate with software platforms, ensuring technical coherence across the product
- Understand and apply AI capabilities — LLM APIs, agent workflows, and AI-assisted features — as tools to enrich the software products you build
- Apply security awareness to every architecture decision, including credential management, API authentication, data handling, and network security for edge-connected and SaaS products, and identify and escalate risk before it becomes a production problem
- Track project status, surface blockers, and communicate progress to PAVNA leadership clearly and on schedule
Requirements:
- 7+ years building and shipping software, ideally in a role where you owned technical direction end to end; recent, hands-on work you can show matters more than years on paper
- Strong software architecture judgment, with the ability to make platform, API, and integration decisions, weigh tradeoffs deliberately, and stay hands-on enough to prototype and stress-test those decisions with AI tools rather than delegating them
- Fluent, hands-on use of AI tools, including LLM APIs for product features (Claude, GPT-4) and AI coding assistants as your primary way of building; you prompt, evaluate, and iterate on AI-generated code to ship working software, and you can spot where the output is subtly wrong
- Experience evaluating third-party development proposals and managing vendors against statements of work and milestones
- Working knowledge of security fundamentals for networked and SaaS products, including authentication, credential management, API security, and basic data handling principles
- Familiarity with web, desktop, and hardware-integrated software environments; you don't need to specialize in all of them, but none should be foreign to you
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take direction from business stakeholders, translate it into what you build, and explain technical tradeoffs back to non-technical leadership
- Awareness of commercial software distribution models, including standalone licensing and SaaS and subscription structures
- Background in AV, broadcast, media technology, or hardware-adjacent software products
- Experience coordinating with internal engineering teams for final QA or technical review of externally contracted work
