Infrastructure Security Engineer

Qualis is an AI startup backed by $50M Series A funding focused on building frontier AI solutions for enterprise across mission-critical industries. They are seeking a founding Infrastructure Security Engineer to design and secure the core platform powering AI applications, with a focus on building secure cloud infrastructure and networking.

Responsibilities:

• Design and secure cloud infrastructure across Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments
• Build identity, secrets management, access control, and secure networking foundations
• Implement Zero Trust architecture, machine identity, and least-privilege access
• Secure AI workloads, deployment pipelines, and platform infrastructure
• Develop security automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
• Lead infrastructure threat modeling and proactively reduce security risks
• Design secure customer deployment environments and cloud architectures
• Partner closely with Platform, Infrastructure, and ML Engineering teams to deliver secure-by-default systems

Requirements:

• 5+ years in Infrastructure Security & Security Engineering
• Strong experience securing AWS, GCP, or Azure environments
• Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and cloud networking
• Experience implementing IAM, secrets management, encryption, and authentication systems
• Strong understanding of threat modeling, Zero Trust, and infrastructure security best practices
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
• Builder mindset with experience writing code and deploying secure production infrastructure
