About this role
The Lifetime Value Co. is a fast-growing company based in New York that specializes in providing access to public records and developing data products. They are seeking a skilled Contract Business Intelligence Data Analyst to analyze complex datasets, write advanced SQL queries, and create dashboards that support data-driven decision making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations using BigQuery, Looker, SQL, and integrated data from webhooks and APIs
- Create clear, compelling dashboards and reports in Looker that effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Validate and verify the accuracy and integrity of analytical results by implementing validation techniques
- Building Looker dashboards from AI usage data
- Validating metrics against source records
- Troubleshooting dashboard freshness or filter issues
- Documenting metric definitions
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or similar role, with a track record of analyzing and deriving insights from complex datasets
- 2+ years of SQL experience required; experience with BigQuery preferred
- Solid understanding of data visualization principles with hands-on Looker experience required
- Strong ability to debug and validate data outputs, including investigating discrepancies between source data, SQL results, and dashboard results
- Experience working with complex datasets, including JSON, arrays, nested records, webhook/event data, or API-ingested data
- Understanding of ETL pipelines and data transformation best practices
- Familiarity with GitHub workflows and Jira required; experience with Jira custom fields or automation is a plus
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of the data analysis and development process, while always reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs
- Ability to provide regular updates, document progress clearly in Jira, and maintain accurate process documentation as work evolves
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Comfortable working in a remote environment with clear communication skills, timely status updates, and proactive escalation of blockers
- Experience working with APIs (preferably REST or GraphQL APIs)
