BJAK is a company focused on providing innovative financial solutions, and they are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to develop the core systems for their AI Neobank app. The role involves building reliable APIs, workflows, and financial product infrastructure to support a variety of services for millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Build backend services, APIs and workflows for the AI Neobank app
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services
- Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations
- Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other partners
- Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance
- Build systems that are practical, auditable and ready for regulated financial products
Requirements:
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases
- Able to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk
- Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated products is a strong advantage
