Software Engineer (Parsing & Deterministic Generation)

Accelint is a defense technology company that connects sensing to action across the connected battlespace. They are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop software solutions for parsing, translation, and deterministic generation of complex engineering data and documentation, focusing on creating reproducible software pipelines and reliable tooling for data transformation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and utilities using C++ and/or Python to support engineering data processing and automation
• Reverse-engineer, decode, and parse proprietary and binary file formats to extract, transform, and validate engineering data
• Develop software capable of parsing serialized object graphs, including Java-serialized structures, hex-encoded binary streams, and other complex data representations
• Analyze and resolve large cross-referenced object graphs while maintaining data integrity and consistency throughout transformation processes
• Design and implement compiler, transpiler, and schema translation solutions to convert engineering artifacts between formats such as XSD to Protocol Buffers (.proto), model representations to IDL, and other structured data formats
• Develop and maintain deterministic, reproducible software build pipelines and integrate automated testing and deployment within CI/CD environments
• Create and maintain automated document generation toolchains utilizing LaTeX, AsciiDoc, PDF generation, and SVG/PNG rendering technologies
• Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and architects to develop scalable automation solutions supporting engineering workflows
• Support software verification, validation, debugging, and performance optimization activities
• Document software architecture, interfaces, and technical processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer
• Learn and apply MBSE concepts, including XMI and SysML data models, to support future engineering integration efforts
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong systems programming experience using C++ and/or Python
• Experience reverse-engineering and decoding proprietary and binary file formats
• Experience parsing serialized object graphs, including Java-serialized structures, binary streams, or similar complex serialized data
• Experience resolving large, cross-referenced object graphs and implementing robust data transformation solutions
• Experience developing compiler, transpiler, schema translation, or automated code generation tools
• Experience implementing deterministic and reproducible software build processes and integrating software within CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing or maintaining automated document generation toolchains utilizing technologies such as LaTeX, AsciiDoc, PDF generation, and SVG/PNG rendering
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or is able to receive and maintain one
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience with schema translation technologies such as XSD, Protocol Buffers (.proto), Interface Definition Language (IDL), or similar data definition languages
• Familiarity with XMI, SysML, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts
• Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other complex engineering programs
• Experience developing software tooling for engineering automation, model transformation, or digital engineering environments
• Experience with performance optimization, software architecture, and large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with software configuration management and DevSecOps practices
• Active-duty military experience
