Software Engineer, Tax Experience, BizTech

Airbnb is a global company that connects hosts and guests for unique travel experiences. The Software Engineer will be part of the Tax Experience team, responsible for developing innovative solutions to enhance user interactions and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Write code, owning end to end features as part of large, crucial products on our roadmap
• Work collaboratively with your core team on solution design, implementation details, and operational excellence
• Execute on new ideas that will enable us to build products that can more effectively adapt to fluid or ambiguous business needs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent practical experience
• 2-4+ years industry experience
• Prior real-word experience and demonstrable knowledge in any of Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go, Rust, C/C++/C#
• Able to communicate well with a wide variety of cross functional partners such as Legal, Customer Support, Experience Design, etc
• Skilled at managing initiatives with ambiguous or rapidly shifting requirements
• Able to contribute to the enrichment of the general engineering culture of the wider organization
• Experience with Tax, Compliance, Finance, or similar domains highly desirable, especially DAC7, OECD Model Rules, KYC, VAT, etc
