Oakbridge Insurance Agency is a new kind of insurance and risk management agency with the mission to transform and elevate the way business is done in our industry. The Senior Platform Engineer – AI & Data is responsible for owning and operating the platform that powers Oakbridge’s agentic AI and data ecosystem, ensuring all systems are reliable, secure, and maintainable long-term.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage CI/CD pipelines across a TypeScript monorepo (pnpm/Turborepo, GitHub Actions)
- Implement environment promotion strategies, staging/production parity and controlled releases with rollback discipline
- Establish and enforce engineering standards that ensure long-term maintainability
- Design, build and maintain Azure-based infrastructure including serverless compute, durable workflows and event driven systems
- Manage services such as Azure Functions, Durable Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Entra ID and Key Vault
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Bicep or equivalent tooling
- Operationalize agent-based workflows using orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph or similar)
- Implement observability and evaluation frameworks (e.g., LangSmith or equivalent)
- Support multi-provider LLM integrations, tool-calling patterns and MCP server infrastructure
- Ensure production-grade deployment discipline for AI systems, including versioning, monitoring and cost management
- Monitor system health using tools such as Application Insights
- Establish observability across both system performance and AI decision quality
- Manage database migrations, systems resilience and production stability
- Support ongoing evolution toward a fully Azure-native architecture
- Build and maintain shared integration libraries enabling consistent interaction with core systems (agency management system, ERP, communication platforms, lakehouse)
- Ensure reliable authentication, error handling and audit logging across all integrations
- Partner with data teams to support effective data flow into analytical platforms
- Enforce least-privilege access, secrets management and identity controls
- Ensure auditability, PII protection and compliance with governance standards
- Establish review gates and deployment controls to maintain platform integrity
- Enable internal and external engineers to effectively build on the platform
- Provide onboarding, documentation and technical guidance
- Review code and validate deliverables from development partners to ensure production readiness
Requirements:
- 7+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or backend engineering
- Deep, hand-on experience with Azure (Functions, Durable Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Entra ID, Key Vault, Application Insights)
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines in a TypeScript/Node.js environment (GitHub Actions, automated testing, release management)
- Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js with ability to review code and contribute when needed
- Experience deploying and operating agentic or AI-driven workflows (LangGraph or similar, tool-calling, evaluation frameworks, model/version management)
- Working knowledge of modern data architectures (lakehouse preferred, Databricks a plus)
- Experience with event-driven systems and operational-to-analytical data pipelines
- Strong understanding of security, identity, secrets management and compliance practices
- Experience working with external development partners or system integrators
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with platform governance and oversight
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP or agency management platforms
- Experience supporting AI/automation initiatives in production environments
- Exposure to M&A integration and multi-entity system environments
