Data Engineer (Healthcare ETL / HL7 / Data Migration)

Clearsense is focused on healthcare data solutions, and they are seeking a Data Engineer to handle data migration, ETL development, and SQL optimization. The role involves working with legacy healthcare systems to ensure high-quality data delivery for reporting and archival purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for healthcare data migration and archival projects
• Extract, transform, and load data from legacy healthcare applications, databases, flat files, and APIs
• Perform source-to-target mapping and data transformation activities
• Develop scalable SQL and ETL solutions supporting multiple healthcare implementations
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic
• Analyze large healthcare datasets to identify inconsistencies and ensure data accuracy
• Troubleshoot SQL performance and resolve data-related issues
• Build and maintain SSRS reports and support other reporting solutions
• Perform data reconciliation, validation, and quality assurance throughout migration projects
• Validate migrated data against business requirements and source systems
• Produce clear reconciliation and validation documentation
• Work directly with healthcare data from EHR/EMR systems
• Interpret clinical, patient, financial, and operational healthcare data
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain data integrity throughout migration efforts
• Partner with Product, QA, Integration, and Client Delivery teams
• Assist with troubleshooting production data issues
• Document mapping logic, validation rules, and technical solutions

Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, Database Development, or Business Intelligence
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, or similar ETL technologies
• Experience developing or supporting SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms
• Experience working directly with healthcare data
• Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping, ETL development, data validation, reconciliation, and data quality
• Experience working with EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, NextGen, or similar healthcare systems
• Experience supporting healthcare data migration, archival, or legacy system modernization initiatives
• Experience working with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or C-CDA
• Experience using Python for ETL development, automation, or data processing
• Experience working with large healthcare datasets and complex data transformations
