NFL - Project Manager – Enterprise Technology & IT Portfolio

Algoworks is a company involved with NFL technology teams, and they are seeking a highly organized, tech-savvy Project Manager to lead technology initiatives across the League’s IT portfolio. The role entails managing projects from initiation through closeout while acting as a liaison between IT teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Full Lifecycle : Lead projects from demand, scoping, and planning through execution, control, and final closeout
• Develop Work Plans : Structure comprehensive project plans, integrated timelines, resource assignments, and backlogs
• Estimate Work Effort : Gather and oversee work effort estimates for upcoming project phases and deliverables
• Prioritize Tasks : Effectively manage multiple competing priorities and workstreams to meet milestones and goals
• Act as Central Liaison : Serve as the primary contact for technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
• Translate Concepts : Elicit requirements and translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Present Updates : Manage documentation for and present updates during Project Kick-offs, Milestones, and Closures
• Measure Success : Monitor workstream metrics, program KPIs, and backlogs to evaluate and ensure overall success
• Mitigate Risks : Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, technical dependencies, and system constraints
• Control Scope : Recognize, track, and manage scope changes while escalating issues swiftly for timely resolution
• Navigate Fast-Paced Environments : Manage executive stakeholders and navigate high-pressure, event-driven scenarios
• Maintain Artifacts : Create and maintain requirements, design specifications, user guides, and technical documentation
• Enforce Governance : Align all project activities with standard PMO governance and compliance protocols

Requirements:

• 5–7 years managing complex technology projects, application development, or mission-critical systems
• Proven experience working within a formal Project Management Office (PMO) structure
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong hands-on experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall technology development frameworks
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
• Advanced proficiency in Office 365, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to interface confidently and interface with all levels of employees, executives, and vendors
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for detailing specifications
• Self-starter who can flex their project management style to fit various sponsors, owners, and audiences
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a detailed, organized approach to managing confidential information
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification is highly desirable
