Senior Software Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing existing ETL applications and leading the migration of ETL workloads from Ab Initio to PySpark.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, support, and enhance existing ETL applications and data integration workflows
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of incidents
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using Ab Initio, PySpark, and Python
• Lead and execute the migration of ETL jobs and data pipelines from Ab Initio to PySpark
• Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to support code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and migration activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration
• Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio or PySpark, Python, and Oracle Database
• Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise-scale data processing applications
• Experience with production support, incident management, and root cause analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, version control, and automated testing methodologies
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Proven experience migrating ETL jobs from legacy platforms to modern data processing frameworks
