Georgia IT, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sr Software Engineer to design and develop high-quality software modules for their product suite. The role involves mentoring team members, conducting testing, and resolving software-related issues while continuously updating knowledge of new technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-quality, maintainable software modules for the Cotiviti product suite
- Conduct unit and integration testing using appropriate methodologies and techniques
- Analyze requirements and specifications, and create detailed designs for implementation
- Analyze and resolve software-related issues reported by internal or external customers
- Continuously update professional knowledge of new technologies adopted within the Cotiviti product suite
- Perform change control activities
- Enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in both written and electronic formats
- Review software engineering approaches to proposed solutions to ensure adherence to best practices
- Mentor team members on proper software engineering methods and techniques
- Complete all responsibilities outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal-setting process
- Complete all special projects and other duties as required

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience with enterprise and application design patterns applied to Hadoop and Big Data platforms on AWS
- Deep expertise in both on-premises Hadoop ecosystems and modern cloud-native Big Data solutions on AWS
- Hands-on experience with the Cloudera Hadoop stack, including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie, and Python
- Proficiency in writing, maintaining, and troubleshooting shell scripts (Bash or similar) for automation and operational support
- Experience analyzing existing Cloudera Hadoop architecture, workflows, and data pipelines for AWS migration
- Ability to develop comprehensive migration strategies for transferring data, processing logic, and applications to AWS services
- Experience designing target architectures using AWS Big Data services such as Amazon EMR, Airflow, Glue, and Lambda
- Ability to evaluate and select appropriate AWS tools for data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics
- Experience overseeing migration activities, including data transfer, application re-platforming, and validation
- Ensure migrated architectures meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless migration
- Create detailed technical documentation and migration runbooks
- Mentor team members on AWS Big Data best practices
- Strong understanding of cloud data security, compliance, and governance
- Proven track record of migrating or modernizing Big Data workloads to AWS
- Experience with cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty are highly desirable
- Familiarity with XML and JSON data formats
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools
- 5+ years of experience with platform engineering tools such as Bitbucket, Gradle, Octopus, and Artifactory
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of healthcare data, including claims, providers, members, and their relationships within the framework of a claim
