Software Engineer Principal

SAIC is a premier mission integrator focused on advancing the power of technology and innovation. They are seeking a Software Engineer to support NAVSEA Panama City E30 division project management and financial tools, involving data analysis, software development, and ensuring software standards are met.

Responsibilities:

• Import ERP reports which represent the Actuals for the Project Management system (TEMPR)
• Provide any data analysis, data management, script management and programming management as needed
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs
• Ensures software standards are met
• Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives
• Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies
• Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment
• Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Guides the successful completion of major programs
• Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects
• Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations

Requirements:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
• Must have experience with the following technologies: VBscript, Javascript and T-SQL
• Must have an Interim Secret to start working and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
