Burns & McDonnell is a company that plans, designs, and builds projects for aviation clients, with experience at over 350 airports. They are seeking an Aviation Project Manager to apply technical design and management experience, directing and coordinating activities of design disciplines and construction teams on various projects.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates and collaborates with teammates for deliverables as well as scope, schedule, and budget
- Direct coordination with clients and other external partners
- Ability to lead in pursuit/proposal management and contract negotiations
- Direct project planning, budgeting, and establishing critical project objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 7 years applicable experience
- Minimum 7 years related experience, including resident engineering and/or field experience on airport projects
- Minimum 5 or more years managing complex airport and airline projects, with a focus on airfield infrastructure, aircraft hangars, ramp services, aircraft fueling, and / or terminal improvements
- Manage a wide variety of industry, government and public contacts on project-related matters
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership, problem solving and project finance skills
- Solid understanding of FAA criteria and design standards
- Professional Engineering Registration in Michigan in hand or in process
- Resident engineering and/or field experience on airport projects
- Proximity to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) for timely on-site support
