Thriving Brands is a fast-growing consumer packaged goods company focused on acquiring and revitalizing iconic consumer brands. The Senior Analyst, Category & Business Analytics will transform data into actionable insights to drive sales growth and strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze category, retailer, brand, and competitive performance to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and business risks
- Develop actionable recommendations related to assortment, pricing, promotion, distribution, shelving, and merchandising to drive category growth and retailer performance
- Support customer business reviews, line reviews, and retailer meetings through data-driven insights and compelling category stories
- Monitor performance across key retail partners, including Walmart, Kroger, and other strategic accounts
- Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify whitespace opportunities and support business growth initiatives
- Deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc sales and point-of-sale (POS) reporting to monitor business performance and identify actionable opportunities
- Perform financial and business analyses, including promotional effectiveness, return on investment (ROI), and revenue growth opportunities
- Analyze retailer forecasts, inventory levels, and in-stock performance to identify risks and improve execution
- Partner with Category Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to provide data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making
- Support annual planning, customer strategy development, and business performance reviews through robust analytics and insights
- Translate large and complex datasets into clear, concise, and actionable business insights
- Build executive-ready presentations and recommendations that influence decisions and drive business results
- Create compelling retailer, shopper, and category narratives that support customer growth strategies and sales initiatives
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to commercial teams by identifying opportunities and providing data-backed recommendations
- Develop Monthly Business Review (MBR) presentations and executive-level reporting materials for leadership and customer discussions
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scorecards, automated reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Excel Power Query, and other analytics platforms
- Track and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) across brands, categories, customers, and channels
- Improve reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and organizational visibility through automation and process optimization
- Establish and maintain best practices for data management, reporting governance, and analytical processes
- Maintain and update key business trackers, reporting tools, and performance dashboards to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Lead the development, documentation, and execution of scalable analytical and reporting processes that support company growth
- Manage and oversee new item setup documentation and retailer onboarding requirements to support successful product launches
- Support cross-functional teams with reporting, analytics, retailer requests, and special projects as needed
- Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where team members actively support business priorities and growth initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in CPG business analytics
- Experience and knowledge of IRI, Scintilla, Numerator
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable conclusions; weave into compelling selling stories
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Minimum Bachelor's degree
- Willing to travel to headquarters and retailer meetings (<5% of time)
- Position is fully remote, Work-from-home, but candidate needs to be willing to work US Central or Eastern time zones to best interact with the team
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled analytics tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude features) to improve reporting efficiency and insight generation
- MBA preferred
