Senior EHS Software Systems Engineer

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is a leading firm in land development engineering and environmental consulting. They are seeking a Senior EHS Software Systems Engineer responsible for embedding EHS reporting technology within client organizations and providing digital services across various EHS domains. This role involves managing software implementations, client relationships, and training for end users.

Responsibilities:

• Accountability for leading digital EHS and ESG management software implementations within large organizational programs
• Leading teams or sub-teams including clear delegation of work, quality assurance, mentoring and upskilling of consultants
• Leading system requirements and design workshops and documenting design specifications (technical writing)
• Managing and developing client relationships to grow revenue generation opportunities with those customers
• Managing quality of configured applications through unit testing and formal user acceptance testing including preparation of test scripts
• Preparing training materials and conducting training of end users
• Developing integration specification and implementing system interfaces
• Designing and implementing data migration and conversions
• Planning and leading post go-live support and maintenance activities
• Preparing proposals and securing follow on work from existing projects
• Assisting the digital EHS management team with ongoing project and programs
• Executing rapid development of new data and analytic work tracks with faster iteration over quick sprints
• Providing support in breaking down business problems into solvable components by assessing the requirements and/or business implications to arrive at recommended solutions, with minimal supervision
• Executing the development of new concepts and proof of concept designs
• Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to data analytic problems combining technical expertise with analytics and business knowledge
• Working with Subject Matter Experts and business partners on embedded cross functional teams and developing subject matter expertise in the business as well as systems engineering
• Leveraging 'agile' software engineering for systems implementation
• Promoting an environment that supports innovation and process improvement
• Participating in the development of prototypes for business or research data solutions (dimensional models, model builds) so that business users or predictive modelers may visually understand and explore a new feature or functionality before implementation to expose design assumptions and drive ideation; and
• Demonstrating a high degree of analytic agility to meeting fluid and dynamic business needs

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software implementations or management consulting (software certifications a plus)
• Experience with implementing software platforms including Microsoft based technologies, Enviance/Cority, Hach WIMS, SAP, Enablon, ComplianceQuest, Ideagen/ProcessMAP, and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud
• Experience working in collaborative, virtual, and global work environment
• Exceptional problem-diagnosis and problem-solving skills
• Experience with software engineering
• Experience with designing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to improve operating efficiencies
• Ability to develop and support software integrations between complex enterprise software systems, utilizing JavaScript, XML, jQuery, AJAX, and .NET frameworks
• Experience creating offline-first progressive web apps
• Experience in full-stack development
• Experience in mobile applications development a plus
• Detailed working knowledge of software development lifecycle
• Ability to write and work with RESTful APIs and data formats including JSON and XML
• Knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
• Awareness of multimedia EHS compliance programs, including air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste, incident management, and sustainability
• Ability to quickly develop a rapport with clients and maintain strong customer service skills and responsiveness to the client throughout the project
• Ability to communicate to a technical and non-technical audience
• A valid driver's license in good standing
• Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekends and the ability to travel up to 30% of the time
