Backend Software Engineer, Trading Systems & Data Platform

Arta Finance is on a mission to make financial products accessible to a broader audience through AI and digital tools. The Backend Software Engineer will focus on building high-reliability financial systems that power Arta's wealth platform, ensuring correctness, consistency, and low latency in trading and data processing.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build core financial systems (trading, ledger, billing)
• Develop systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management
• Build and scale real-time and batch data pipelines
• Architect APIs and backend services for internal and external use
• Ensure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance
• Contribute to distributed systems design (event-driven systems, microservices, streaming)
• Partner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems (as needed, not core focus)

Requirements:

• Strong backend or systems engineer with experience in distributed systems
• Experience in at least one: Financial systems (trading, ledger, payments), Data infrastructure, Scalable backend platforms
• Strong understanding of system design, consistency, and reliability
• Solid programming skills (Python or similar)
• Experience with modern infra (Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, etc.)
• Experience with financial primitives (ledger, order management, reconciliation)
• Experience in low-latency or high-throughput systems
• Exposure to data platforms or streaming systems
• Some familiarity with ML systems (nice-to-have, not required)
