EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Unreal Engine Developer with a strong UI focus to support a major client's cross-platform product organization. The role involves building and extending UI systems within Unreal Engine, emphasizing mobile-first development and collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable UI solutions across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Build and extend UI systems within Unreal Engine using UMG (Unreal Motion Graphics)
- Develop cross-platform features with emphasis on mobile platform considerations
- Architect clean separation between UI presentation layers and data/back-end services
- Structure and optimize data pipelines for efficient delivery to the front-end
- Translate UX/design intent into responsive, intuitive in-engine interfaces
- Ensure performance and maintainability of UI across multiple target platforms
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Requirements:
- 3+ years of deep hands-on experience developing within Unreal Engine (systems, workflows, packaging, platform targeting)
- Practical experience building UI using UMG or an equivalent in-engine UI framework
- Demonstrated experience developing UE projects targeting mobile platforms
- Proficiency in C++ within the Unreal Engine context
- Solid understanding of UI architecture patterns (MVC/MVVM) with clear separation of presentation and data
- Experience connecting UE front-end UI to back-end services or data pipelines
- Track record of building scalable, reusable UI component systems within Unreal
- Background in cross-platform development across PC, mobile (iOS/Android), and consoles
- Awareness of platform-specific UI constraints and performance considerations
- B2+ English level (written and spoken)
- Strong eye for UX and visual polish, with the ability to self-direct on interaction details
- Experience with UE profiling tools and mobile performance budgets
- Comfort working in mixed Blueprint/C++ codebases
- Experience with console certification requirements
- Experience shipping titles or applications built in Unreal Engine
