Baker Hughes is a world leader in non-destructive testing (NDT), offering a broad portfolio of industrial inspection solutions. They are seeking a Senior Engineer, Embedded Software Testing and Qualification to design and scale automated test frameworks for embedded systems, ensuring reliable product delivery through collaboration and technical leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Architect Test Frameworks: Designing, architecture, and scaling automated test frameworks from scratch for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments and system integration
- Develop Automation Code: Writing robust, production-grade automation scripts and testing suites using Python, or modern C#
- Lead Hardware/Software Debugging: Isolating, diagnosing, and root-cause complex low-level hardware defects, race conditions, and timing anomalies using lab equipment
- Optimize CI/CD Pipelines: Building, maintaining, and optimizing continuous integration pipelines (e.g. Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to orchestrate daily regression testing on hardware
- Drive Testability: Participating in software code reviews and architectural discussions to advocate for testability, test hooks, and design-for-test (DFT) principles
- Mentor Team Members: Providing technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
Requirements:
- Have 4+ years of experience as an SDET or Test Automation Engineer specifically within embedded systems or application testing
- Have proficiency C# .NET and familiarity with Python
- Have experience testing and employing CV technologies is desirable
- Have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline
- Have experience with automated test equipment (ATE) design or custom hardware test fixture development
- Have knowledge of safety-critical development standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 62304, DO-178C)
- Have experience with containerization tools like Docker for standardized test environments
- Leverage AI/ML tools to accelerate test development, including automated test generation
