Stardust is a design-led reproductive health app used by over 2 million monthly active users. We are hiring a Principal Product Designer to own the full design layer of Stardust, shaping the core product experience, design system, and driving growth through design efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Shape the Core Product Experience
- Lead design across all core features: cycle and temperature tracking, predictions, sleep, mood logging, pregnancy mode, and partner view
- Turn complex health data into interfaces that feel like art, never clinical. Set the bar for how health information should look and feel
- Write your own briefs, own the spec, and hand off clean enough to ship right
- Stay close to implementation and work directly with engineers to protect design intent through production
- Track what ships, review what works, report back
- Define and Evolve the Design System
- Own the Stardust design system end-to-end and evolve it as the product grows
- Maintain consistency and quality across iOS, Android, and web while respecting what makes each platform different
- Write contribution guidelines so engineers can build inside the system without you
- Drive Growth through Design
- Work with growth team to design A/B experiments on high-leverage funnel steps with a bias toward learning fast
- Build a modular component library so experiments don't require full redesigns
- Use data to find drop-off, form hypotheses, iterate
Requirements:
- Comfortable designing for both iOS and Android native apps as well as web. You understand the nuances of each platform and know when the rules differ
- 6+ years of product design experience, including significant time as the lead or sole designer on a consumer mobile app
- Exceptional visual craft. You make interfaces that feel alive, not just usable. Your work doesn't look like anyone else's
- You run your own process — you don't need a PM to write your brief or a manager to set your priorities
- Figma fluency. You've built and maintained design systems, not just used them
- A portfolio showing real range: systems thinking, complex health or data UI, growth surfaces, and rich visual design
- You know how to ship specs and prototypes. You know when to use what, and you follow through to production
- Strong point of view on what makes a product feel distinctive and you push back when something is generic
- Experience in health, wellness, femtech, or consumer subscription apps
- Interest in AI and how it's changing the design process
- Familiarity with motion and interaction design
