Verdantas is redefining environmental consulting and sustainable engineering through their innovative approach. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design projects and mentor junior engineers while supporting industrial and manufacturing facility projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design projects from concept through construction
- Develop technical specifications, contract documents, and oversee bidding processes
- Provide construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, field inspections, and providing answers to contractor RFI’s
- Ensure QA/QC compliance and maintain project standards
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and growth
- Perform mechanical design for large HVAC, plumbing, and process systems
- Coordinate designs using 3D modeling tools, i.e., Revit or Navisworks
- Prepare engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, and control diagrams
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and client needs
- Collaborate with project managers and technical leaders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Ability to write a sequence of operations for mechanical designs
- Participate in proposal writing and fee development for major projects
- Represent Verdantas at client meetings and industry events to strengthen relationships
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 6-10 years of mechanical design experience in building systems
- PE license
- Proficiency in HVAC systems, pumps, piping, valves, and controls
- Experience with load calculation and energy modeling software
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for mentorship and commitment to technical excellence
- Knowledge of construction codes, means, and methods
- HAP HVAC modeling
- Familiarity with Navisworks, Point Cloud, AutoCAD/Revit, and 3D scanning tools
- Experience with managing projects (single or multi-disciplinary)
- LEED AP or other sustainability credentials
