eXp Realty is a pioneering company in the commercial real estate sector, known for its innovative work-from-anywhere model. The Designated Managing Broker will oversee brokerage operations in New York and New Jersey, ensuring compliance with state laws and providing exceptional support to agents.
Responsibilities:
- Acts in the capacity of the state Principal Broker
- Conducts training to enhance agent’s knowledge and understanding of contract, risk management, licensing and state real estate laws
- Promptly responds to agents request for assistance
- Effectively consults and engages with eXp Commercial advisors and others in problem-solving of matters associated with difficult or complex transaction issues
- Performs contract review and approvals to ensure legal and contractual compliance of transactions
- Responsible for the administration and management of eXp’s State Trust Account according to state law (if one is required)
- Collaborates with the Director of Commercial Brokerage Operations and eXp’s legal department to ensure that eXp Commercial’s state brokerage operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations including state license law
- Ensures the implementation of the eXp Risk Management Program and demonstrates risk management tools to eXp Commercial advisors
- Must be able to defend our company position at the state level in the event of a Real Estate Commission complaint
- Manages and implements the ongoing enhancement of and compliance with company-wide and individual state commercial brokerage operations manuals
- Supports innovation in how the company can efficiently support its growing state advisor base in terms of brokerage operations
- Mediates issues between eXp Commercial advisors and eXp Realty agents when required
- Consistently engages with our advisors on a monthly basis and tracks these engagements
- Is a critical force in attracting advisors to the eXp Commercial brand and documenting these attraction efforts
- Coordinates distribution of corporate guidance to our advisors through regular personal and group communication
- Such other duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
- Live in and maintain an active real estate broker license in the states of New York and New Jersey
- A keen interest in and high-level experience in commercial real estate compliance activities including a deep knowledge and understanding of legal obligations of real estate professionals under the state and federal law, and Department of Real Estate Rules & Regulations
- Proven track record of managing a large commercial brokerage firm, specifically from operations or a compliance perspective
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Highly collaborative and capable of working with internal partners to facilitate successful results
- Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems using solid judgment
- Possess the highest degree of ethics and integrity
- Willingness and ability to travel within the state
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
- Skyslope experience strongly preferred
- BA/BS strongly preferred
