 Position Overview 
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) Information Technology Division (ITD) is seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Solutions Engineer to support major modernization initiatives across the NC FAST/Green application portfolio.

The selected candidate will design, develop, and deliver end-to-end solutions on Salesforce Government Cloud, supporting mission-critical public-sector programs including case management, licensing, service operations, and related business workflows.

This role is responsible for ensuring Salesforce solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and long-term platform strategy while leveraging both declarative and programmatic Salesforce capabilities to build scalable and maintainable applications.

Key Responsibilities 
Technical Leadership

• Establish Salesforce development standards and engineering best practices.

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.

• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.

• Promote consistency across development teams.

Solution Design & Engineering

• Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions on Salesforce Government Cloud.

• Lead integration architecture and technical solution blueprinting.

• Define configuration and implementation strategies aligned with enterprise standards.

Salesforce Development

• Develop and maintain:

  • Apex Classes

  • Lightning Web Components (LWC)

  • Salesforce Flows

  • APIs and system integrations

• Follow platform governance and secure coding standards.

Requirements Analysis

• Lead technical discovery sessions with product owners and business stakeholders.

• Gather and analyze functional and technical requirements.

• Evaluate solution alternatives and recommend the best-fit approach.

Release Management

• Review Salesforce Spring, Summer, and Winter release notes.

• Identify:

  • Breaking changes

  • Feature enhancements

  • Deprecated functionality

  • Configuration impacts

• Assess the impact of platform updates on existing applications and integrations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with:

  • Product Owners

  • Salesforce Administrators

  • QA Teams

  • Business Stakeholders

  • External Vendors

• Coordinate project deliverables, releases, and platform enhancements.

AI Enablement

• Identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into Salesforce solutions.

• Design intelligent automation and AI-assisted workflows.

• Ensure responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies within Salesforce Government Cloud.
