Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-growing organization in the healthcare technology industry. The Senior Data Engineer will focus on building scalable data pipelines and a modern data platform to support analytics and operational insights.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain production data pipelines using API ingestion, CDC, and event-driven patterns
- Develop and manage dbt models for clean, analytics-ready datasets
- Design scalable data solutions in AWS and Databricks
- Implement data quality, testing, and monitoring practices
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams on metrics and reporting
- Create dashboards and data models to support business insights
Requirements:
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience working in small start up environments
- Experience with AWS and Databricks or similar platforms
- Experience building data pipelines and ingestion frameworks (API, CDC, streaming)
- Hands-on experience with dbt preferred
- Healthcare or regulated data experience preferred
- Experience with Airflow or Databricks Workflows
