Cummins Inc. is seeking a talented Welding Engineer – Senior to join their team remotely, specializing in manufacturing. In this role, you will drive manufacturing excellence by leading the development and implementation of welding processes and improve product quality and reliability through advanced welding expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep technical and manufacturing expertise by mastering welding processes, welding automation, welding codes, machine programming, drawing interpretation, and manufacturing principles to design robust, compliant, and efficient production systems
- Champion safety, ergonomics, and operational excellence by proactively identifying risks, implementing ergonomic workplace designs, and ensuring manufacturing processes support a safe, efficient, and injury-free work environment
- Drive process optimization and standardization by creating effective process layouts, improving equipment utilization, reducing waste, and developing clear process documentation that ensures consistency, quality, and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively by collaborating across functions, influencing stakeholders, valuing diverse perspectives, and clearly conveying technical information to align teams around shared manufacturing and business goals
Requirements:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. (3 to 5 years manufacturing quality experience)
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
- Welding experience required
- Hands on Laser Welding experience preferred
